Window-sill
material
Artificial marble is a composite material consisting of 85%
natural marble aggregate and 15% polyester resin.
Window-sill measurements
• Window-sills are 18 and 25 ìì (±1%) thick;
• Window-sill length is up to 2900÷3000 mm (±1%). When the
window-sill is longer, it is made of two parts which are
later glued together butt-to-butt. As a result we get
continuous solid window-sill.
• Window-sill width must be a number divisible by 5 (50 mm;
100 mm; 150 mm; ... up to 800 mm (±1%);
Customer decides about length and width of window-sill. Each
window-sill is made according to requests of each customer
individually.
Advantages of artificial marble:
Thermal stability
You can place a hot frying pan on artificial marble without
any hesitation and harmful consequences. Mantelpieces are
made from artificial marble.
Water resistance
Artificial marble has minimal saturation coefficient (the
coefficient is less then that of natural marble on which
stains of tea, fruit juice or shampoo may remain).
Artificial marble is protected from stains because of its
solid surface layer.
Strength
Artificial marble is stronger than natural marble. It has
the same density throughout its volume. It is resistant to
aggressive environment (acids, acetone, solvents, alkali etc).
Excellent aesthetic appearance
Nowadays production of window-sills from artificial marble
offers a variety of surface finishes and colors – from plain
white to virtually exact replication of natural stone. Such
window-sills harmonize with the interior and emphasize on
uniqueness of your house.
Artificial marble maintenance
Maintenance is very simple. You can clean or wash it with
water or liquid detergent which does not contain any
abrasive.
Time-proof color
Natural marble may become yellow in a couple of years,
especially if it contains a lot of iron salt and the room is
humid. Artificial marble is secure from such dangers since
every grain of mineral is wrapped in polymer shell. Thus
artificial marble does not interact with water and air.
Installation
Installation is performed using ordinary glue mixtures like
“Termit” or “Ferozit”, construction foam and wedges or
ordinary cement.
Reparability
Unlike natural marble, various defects of artificial marble
surface (scratches, cracks etc.) are easily eliminated.
Repair of artificial marble window-sill is a relatively easy
task.
Warm to the touch
Artificial marble and products made of it are warm to the
touch unlike natural marble, which is cold.
Hygienic
Artificial marble is a homogeneous and nonporous material.
Natural marble is always porous and, therefore, it is not
hygienic.
Inside window-sills made from artificial marble ensure high
quality and reliability. A wide range of window-sill colors
harmonizes with modern design; therefore artificial marble
is a universal material for interior decoration.
